Derelict for over 12 years, this building was brought back to its original form set in the 1900’s, working closely with Bedford Borough Council and the Town Heritage we were able to restore the building to its former glory with a modern twist. We were able to obtain planning permission for the construction of five new flats on top of the existing building. The existing Ground Floor and basement were extensively refurbished and designed for restaurant or bar use.

From the traditional hand carved stone Finials we had to fit in to the new sash windows, this unique building had its very own challenges.

The vast appreciation and recognition was affirmed when Sira Building & Development alongside Simic Associates were awarded Winners in the Preservation & Conservation Category in the Built Environment Awards 2017 from The Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
